Saturday, March 18th sees a superb gala day of junior soccer played at Wyatt Oval, Belrose, topped off by the second annual ‘Thanks for Life!’ Charity Match.
An Invitational BTH Raiders II will take on the Transplant Australia Football Club which is coming from across Australia to participate in this match. The transplant team is made up of people living the dream of a second chance at life after receiving a life-saving transplant. Last year BTH took the honours one-nil playing for the Doujon Zammit Shield, name in the honour of a young Australian killed in Greece some years ago. His family donated his organs, inspiring two nations to think more positively about the gift of life. This year BTH has mixed up the team with four of our ladies making their first appearance in the charity match. Here’s how the team currently stands: Tim Bowland | ALs and a living donor Brett Budd | O35s Bec Cogan | WALs and Club VP Mark Craig | O35s Shauna Dew | WO35s Mark French | O35s and Club VP Gary Glover | O35s and Club President Christian Greifeneder | O35s Yasmin Leigh | WU18s Gary Loupos | O35s Iain McLeod | O35s Andy Saunders | O35s and Club VP Chris Siemsen | O35s Chris Thomas | O35s Emma Watson | WU18s Come down and support your club and a great cause.
