SUNDAY 2nd APRIL
WU13-3 'Emeralds'
The Emeralds have had a fantastic start to the season - working really hard at in the preseason and at training (when not rained out!), welcoming new players to the team and having lots of fun together.
Our season opened with a tough derby against last year's champions and despite lots of action outside their penalty box, we were unlucky not to reply to their two goals. We continue to grow in confidence and skill and are working even better as a team unit. Congratulations to Lily (pre-season game) and Chelsea (first game) on their 'Player of the Match' awards.
WU9 Rubies
The WU9 Rubies got off to a fantastic start against the Narrabeen Opals with a convincing win. After a tentative first minute, the girls got stuck into the opposition and built up a handsome half time lead. This lead gave them the freedom to express themselves even more in the second half to put away even more goals.
A great team performance after only a couple of training sessions together. Lauren Turner bagged the player of the week following some good shifts in training and an energetic performance in the game, popping up all over the park.
