The match against Mosman was outstanding and a great example of intensity and team work. From the get go, the team challenged for every ball, winning most first and second balls. A quick counter attack from defence, opened up Mauritzio who took a beautiful first touch, a decent run down the line and perfect ball over the top which Jeremy ran onto and chipped the keeper to open up the scoring after 8 minutes.
Mosman then stepped up their game and started pushing harder. 20 minutes into the game, they were awarded a questionable penalty. The man with the gloves, Joey Smallman stepped up and made a big penalty save. This massive save gave the lads a big lift. We created a few more chances, and in the 35th minute, Bevan lined up a driving shot from just outside the box. The balled sailed past 5 defenders and the keeper to take the team to 2-0. A few minutes later, we won a corner. A decent ball in and Isaak Badyari leaped higher than everyone in the crowded box to glance in a header. 3-0 at the half.
The second half started with the same intensity as the first half. Conor Wilson opened the goals in the second half with a spectacular half-volley-side-foot-dink finish at the near post. We won a penalty 20 minutes later, and Lachy dispatched a low shot into the left side of the goal to pick up our 5th goal of the match. Unfortunately, Mosman found a way through with a quick corner and a quality volley finish to pick up a consolation goal. We finished the match on a high though, with a final goal after some solid play on the left-side. A brilliant switch ball to Isaiah who settled the ball with a magic first touch and a thumping shot cross goal to nestle in the opposite corner to wrap up the match 6-1.
