Covid-19 update - 19 May 2020

We are yet to receive any formal advice from the NSW Government, via the Office of Sport, concerning their proposed framework for their guidelines concerning ‘return to training’.

As such, the Football NSW's Football Guidelines for Returning to Training (and related resources) have not been able to be adapted to reflect the Government’s framework, and therefore, have not been approved. Read the full update from 15 May from Football NSW here.

BTH are working closely with MWFA and whilst we are enthusiastic with the return to football our primary concern is the safety of our players, coaches, managers and families. We have arranged on-line meetings with all of our Coaches and Managers on 18 and 19 May 2020 so we can update them on the likely framework we will need to work under as there will be specific guidelines relating to social distancing. Subsequent documentation will be sent out to all players, coaches, managers and families in due course and prior to training sessions commencing.

We are hoping there will be a return to playing match’s mid to late June 2020, however this is dependant on the official proposed framework from the NSW Government and MWFA. MWFA are also working with councils and other sporting organisations to ensure that we maximise our playing timeframes for the season.

Clubs are a reflection of their members. In times like these we need to step it up a level. Our BTH families are why we are a Great Family Club! We look out for each other.

Clearly our initial considerations are around getting training underway in a safe and socially responsible manner. We know that with your support and diligence we can achieve this and we will continue to update you on timelines as soon as they become available.

Stay tuned...
